World-Scale LNG Expansion Project - Western Australia |

Back in March 2005, when Woodside Energy awarded us the contract
for the Phase V Expansion Project at their existing LNG complex
at Karratha, we were aware that the project would deliver massive
improvements to the plant's liquid natural gas output. |

| |
But we were also determined that it should also raise the bar in terms of safety and environmental issues. |

| |
Having recently completed the site preparation phase Karratha will be the world's first liquefaction plant to be designed and built in modules. So we're pioneering in every sense - all in an environment featuring extreme weather conditions and the potential for tropical cyclones! |

As with every Foster Wheeler project, safety management is at the forefront - our philosophy is that all injuries are preventable and everyone has to be 100% committed to achieving the highest possible HSE performance. |
| |
| |
Our target is to deliver a 15% improvement on the safety performance reached by the contractors who built site's fourth train. |
| |
| |
The key to this is our unique behavioural-based Continual Observation & Risk Evaluation, or 'CORE', programme. Affecting everyone - from senior management right the way down - this innovative system has already proven successful in this and other projects. |

In fact, the Batam team recently celebrated over one-million manhours without any lost time incidents at all. |
