The US$4.5 billion Malampaya Deep Water Gas-to-Power project
was a unique venture with the potential not just to reward shareholders,
but to support an entire country's development for years to come. |

|
|
| |
This was the largest and most significant industrial investment in the history of the Philippines - reducing the country's dependence on imported fuel by as much as 30%. |

So when Shell Philippines Exploration (SPEX) tasked us with the design and completion of an onshore gas plant - capable of delivering 500 mmscfd of sweetened dry gas to power stations with the total generating capacity of 2,700 megawatts - we didn't just identify a commercial opportunity; we recognised a huge responsibility. |

Malampaya was more than just an exceptional engineering project, though; it also gave us the opportunity to benefit the area in other ways. One key investment we were able to make was the provision of resources to construct an internet library for the Batangas State University (BSU). |

Ultimately, we're proud that the recognition we received not only came from SPEX - when they awarded us that year's Managing Director's Outstanding Contractor's Award - but also from the Province's Governor. |

Governor Hermilando I Mandanas awarded us special recognition for services to the local community that are above and beyond what is required by contractual obligations. The award had never previously been given. |
