1935 We received our first order for a complete oil refinery – in Uruguay
1949 Foster Wheeler wins the contract to build Esso's new refinery at Fawley in the UK
1972 Largest crude distillation built to date in Europe comes on stream at the Total/SFR refinery in Normandy, France – designed by Foster Wheeler
1979 We receive our first major offshore project – the Fulmar project for Shell Expro in the UK North Sea
1997 Foster Wheeler and BOC Gases celebrate the start-up of South America's largest hydrogen plant, in Venezuela
1999 Completion of the Thai Aromatics Recovery Project for Esso Thailand, within budget and ahead of the contractual date.
2000 We win a major contract for a grassroots bulk pharmaceutical manufacturing facility to be built in Singapore for Schering-Plough.
2000 Oman LNG plant inaugurated: designed and built by Foster Wheeler in JV, with a world-class HSE, schedule and cost performance
2002 We win the contract to design and build Mozambique 's first major upstream oil and gas development
2003 Our skills continue to successfully transfer to new businesses. With our JV partner, we win the Goro Nickel project in New Caledonia
2004 We win the contract for a major expansion of SHARQ's petrochemicals complex in Saudi Arabia
2004 We win the FEED for Khurais, the largest crude increment program in Saudi Aramco's history
2005 We start work on Lucite International's new methylmethacrylate facility in Singapore, which will use Lucite International's new state-of-the-art Alpha technology
2006 The Oryx GTL plant in Qatar is inaugurated. Engineered by Foster Wheeler, this is a "world first": the first plant to convert natural gas to liquid fuel at commercial scale.
2007 A Foster Wheeler-led JV is awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management contract for the onshore portion of Woodside's Pluto LNG Project in Western Australia.

2008 In the autumn, the first onshore LNG processing train in the world to be designed and constructed in modular form produces first LNG ahead of Woodside's target for export. The Foster Wheeler-led JV designed and built this state-of-the-art facility.
2008 Foster Wheeler, together with a consortium partner in China, wins a feasibility study for a coal-to-liquids plant in China.
2009 We are awarded the EPC and managing PMC contract for the new world-scale Paradip Refinery in India.
2009 We celebrate! We win the prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category, the eighth time that a Foster Wheeler UK company has won a Queen's Award.
